James "shorty" Caroll

Postby B.G » Fri Jan 20, 2006 10:16 am

Taken from Dallaswakeboarding:

I am deeply saddened to report the loss of one of our wakeboard friends and an all around great kid. James “Shorty” Carroll was killed in an automobile accident this morning near his home in Cibolo, Texas. James was just 17 years old.

I met James two years ago when he showed up at TSR to ride in the first stop of the Texas Wakeboard TourHis father, James Sr., fully supported his son’s passion for wakeboarding and together they traveled to every stop on the series. They were almost always the first ones to arrive at the tournament site and together they would often help my wife Susie unload her van and get the rider registration table set-up. James wanted to be the first to sign-up so he was assured a spot in the contests!

I spoke with James dad this evening and as you can imagine…he is absolutely devastated. His son was his life and wakeboarding was a big part of it. It was a passion they both shared.

Please keep James, his dad, and all his friends and family in your thoughts and prayers as they get through this very difficult time.

I have known James and his Father for ten years, when i first started riding down in Seguin. Shorty was was about 8 or so when I first saw him trying inverts on lake placid. Always saw them at the contests and hung out with them, ...good people!!

Moni and I are devastated as well , our thoughts and prayers are with the Carroll family.

Jimmy Carroll

Postby ALLNVAIN » Mon Jan 23, 2006 8:13 am

I would like to take this time and say thank you from Jim and his family for all the well wishers in the scene.I have personally seen how people like you can make a trying time alittle easier.
Jim and Jimmy were a team that lived and breathed wakeboarding.Jim plans on staying in the scene so don`t think he`s going anywhere.Jimmy would have wanted him to do whatever he could for wakeboarding.
Jim is real busy and i thought i would help him out by letting you all know how much your thoughts are appreciated.
So from Jim,Jimmys girlfriend and the whole Carroll family, Thank you all and God Bless.
